Volunteerism

I have been involved with the following professional organization:

SDSIC – San Diego Software Industry Council – I volunteered to help Bob Slapin, head of SDSIC, in organizing the annual Investor Conference for a couple of years.

Commnexus – I have been the Co-Chair of the LBS Special Interest Group for several years now, and have also been one of the people behind starting the M2M Special Interest Group.

Athena – I was a long term member of this Women in Technology organization. In 2004 I was selected as one of the finalists for the prestigious Pinnacle Award!

TiE, San Diego Chapter – I have been a long term member and helped the organization with getting panel speakers and promoting their events. I was also a mentor for their TYE (The Young Entrepreneurs)  program, coaching Young Entrepreneurs in a business plan competition.

Additionally, I performed community service by participating for 3 years as a voluteer in the University City Planning Group. I attended our monthly Executive Committee meetings reviewing upcoming development projects to ensure they followed the city plan for University Community Plan.
